ANDRÉS COLL |
Coming from the descendants of black sub-Saharian slaves, the cult of geniuses (djiins) has spread to the Maghreb under various names. Diwan in Algeria, Gnawa in Morocco.
Simoh Bouchra and Boualem Fedel bring this repertoire into a contemporary dimension, using new tools and new afroelectro sounds, and allow the “Maghrebian” identity to embrace modernity while respecting the authenticity of texts and values, such as the transmission, sharing and universality of musical language |
|
Andrés Coll, born in Ibiza, is a multifaceted vibraphonist who combines a keen and broad musical sense, an unquestionable virtuosity as a performer and a stoic commitment to the art. Andres Coll Odyssey and Andres Coll Cosmic Trio brings together a core of musicians who amalgamate the research of folk music from their own cultures with the avant-garde spirit and free improvisation. They investigates the archaeology of musical cultures, digging for the roots of a singular primordial music, the original language of humans. |

HIRAHI AFONSO |
Hirahi Afonso's fingers search for imaginary strings and frets on the instrument he began playing when he was only 5 years old. He is one of the most brilliant musicians of the current generation, who has given a new twist to traditional Canarian music and who cannot be considered a typical timple player. In LO PURO we will find electronic music, folk, flamenco, rap, but always with the timple as a common thread, an instrument that was unknown until now for most of the artists who participate in this album and that now..., is a reality. |
